One of the high level goals for XMTP to use this contract as a contact registry is that it is affordable.

We will be required to support a form of meta transaction, either as subsidized by an owning wallet or as implemented by an ERC-4337 paymaster wallet. Both of these avenues would benefit from the ability to batch multiple requests into a single transaction for cost savings.
