@arielkidwell the contrast checker can't "see" images, so it checks the text against the background color. In this case it's white on white which results in that 1:1 ratio. In cases like this you can make a judgement call and spot check the photo colors (I'm using https://webaim.org/resources/contrastchecker/) and disregard the warning if you can verify that it passes. This photo is plenty dark in the bottom corner so I think it's okay to not flag it.
