Hi, i've already printed alle the elements and working on electronics. Decided not to use SD card now and according to information from wiki i need different firmware. Also i do not need CMUcam5 features. Is prototype firmware free from CMUcam5 as well? Where can i find the very first version?

Hello,

First, thanks for your interest in this project!

There is no difference in code, if you leave out the SD card then the gamepad simply doesn't use it and of course you lose the record/play features.

Please note that all the electronics are available both as kits and individual parts on our store, in case you're having trouble sourcing any parts. The store is here: http://store.vorpalrobotics.com

Also note: many people have had trouble with getting a compatible BEC. A lot of the cheap chinese BECs say they support 3 amps but in fact they do not. Please see the notes on this page of my wiki for a list of BECs that are known not to work: http://vorpalrobotics.com/wiki/index.php?title=Vorpal_Combat_Hexapod_Battery/Switch_Construction

Scroll down to the section on battery/switch for robot and read the discussion carefully.

The current firmware requires the CMUCam library to be installed but again nothing will go wrong if you don't have a CMUcam. The CMUCam feature is only for use with Scratch programming, and its optional even there.

Hope this helps!

Could you point me the right source of the CMUcam library. I can't find it in "Manage libraries" in Arduino IDE. So far i simply commented out library include line.   You are right about BEC. Today i'm going to check the one i have in hand. It says 3A max 5A. Will stress it to see its output. Have a good day!
