To ensure ad-hoc interoperability with other formats is not hindered, the profile should introduce reasonable length limits.

As an example, in DTDL many fields are limited in length. https://azure.github.io/opendigitaltwins-dtdl/DTDL/v3/DTDL.v3.html

That would be specific to other formats (WoT DTDL profile) or the smallest length of all formats we know so far. Otherwise, we can pick any length and will run into issues at some point. Conversion from all those formats to TD will work without any limits.
