Thanks for letting me know! I'll have a look and see what's going on :)
@pjones I was able to get SimpleMarkdown to show up as an option and open the file in FX by tapping on a markdown file, then tapping the "OPEN AS" button in the bottom right of the dialog, then selecting "Plain text".
As for MGit, I'm getting a crash in the app whenever I tap "Edit in other apps", so I went ahead and submitted a bug report to them for that and I'll have a look once that's fixed.
@wbrawner thanks for looking into this. I have a similar problem in Nextcloud app, when I try to open .txt
file with Open with
menu item, I don't see SimpleMarkdown as an option from the app list. Nextcloud notes have .txt
extension, but they are markdown formatted, so it would be definitely handy to be able to directly edit these files in SimpleMarkdown.
@pschiffe thanks for letting me know! I believe that's an easy fix, but I'm out of town at the moment so I'll have a look as soon as I get back to my home desk. I'll let you know once I've got a fix for it :)
@pschiffe, this should be fixed as of ee771607a77917b6321897dd57582478ccceea6a, or version 0.4.2 from the Play Store. The update's rolling out now so you should have it soon :)
@wbrawner awesome! Works like a charm, thanks.

I'm afraid the play-store app 'Pocket Git' still has the issue MGit had.
It would be nice if I could send a markdown file to Simple from another application (e.g., MGit, FX, etc.)
Right now:
Selecting "Simple Markdown" from within MGit opens Simple Markdown with an "Untitled.md" file instead of the actual file open in MGit. (Also a bubble appears that says a error occurred.)
Tapping a markdown file in FX (file explorer) doesn't give me the option of opening the file with Simple Text (the file type is detected as
text/plain
)Would love to use Simple Text to browse my git repos that have markdown in them.
Thanks!
