Not working on Pinephone Pro #49

After Pinephone Pro starts the system, it will turn into a black screen after running for a short time, eventually draining the battery.

Which image did you try? It was an issue in one of the first images (power key wasn't handled correctly). I thought I fixed it.

Will the screen turn off automatically? But it feels like it keeps consuming power after the screen goes black, and finally the battery runs out.

Try this one: https://github.com/webOS-ports/luneos-testing/releases/tag/20230514-LuneOS-Testing-Builds

I will publish a new image next week hopefully with latest kernel from Megi

jasper2007111 commented 11 months ago

Okay, try it now

OK I will check when I'm back home, currently traveling and no PPP with me to test on

No rush, thank you

This one is somewhere in between the other 2 images, can you see if that one behaves better?

This time the installation was successful, but there was no virtual keyboard. After I pressed the power button, I found that the screen would not light up when I pressed it again. After I tried to restart, the screen remained black after displaying the luneOS page. After several attempts, the normal screen still could not be displayed.

OK I will build a new image with updated kernel once home in a few days. Just many things have been updated in recent months and the issues you mentioned should have been solved now. I'll let you know once it's ready

@jasper2007111 I've been playing quite a bit with the new images, but having various issues and not really sure what causes it.

Issues:

What's fixed: Sensors are now behaving good on mine (but might depend on version of PPP).

I moved kernel from 5.17 to 6.5 and I see the following issues which could be partially due to my early edition of the PPP (December 2021).

Which version of the PPP do you have?

@jasper2007111 I've been playing quite a bit with the new images, but having various issues and not really sure what causes it.

Issues:

  • Power/volume buttons not behaving (not sure if it's kernel or hw issue yet)
  • Screen doesn't want to turn on after it's off (I have this on PT2 too, so I suspect it's something on OS level, we're looking into).
  • Charging/battery indicator issues (due to reworked battery/charger in kernel, shouldn't be too hard to fix).
  • Sound not working (might be related to first issue, didn't check in depth yet).

PPP means PinePhone Pro? I purchased it from the official website in August this year.
