Merge will cause a lots of 
branches line and getting the history be very complicated.

This has been proposed in ticket-104 and an incomplete implementation was 
proposed in pr-218.

It's still an open request that will eventually get taken care of.  I don't 
plan to do anything for this in the near future  so I am closing this issue.  
If you want to work on a PR for review, that's fine with me.
