Previous & Next Frame controls for AVCHD .mts files? #283

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. trying to use the square bracket "[" and "]" commands to go back or advance
1 frame at a time, as shown under the Controls Menu;

2. Have tried both the Keyboard command and selecting the menu item itself.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Was expecting (hoping) to see what the Control menu command describes: go to
the Previous or Next Frame; the words "Previous Frame" or "Next Frame" appear
in the upper left corner, indicating the command has been recognized, but there
is no change in the picture being displayed, even after repeated attempts.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

The "current" version (now two-years old): 0.6.8, under Mac OS X 10.6.8 ("Snow
Leopard" -- though behavior is same on my MacBookPro under OS 10.7.3 "Lion")

Please provide any additional information below.

Is this an issue with the AVCHD Long-GOP frame structure which Movist is unable
to resolve? Is there any workaround, or a way to advance just a few frames at a
time?

FYI, just downloaded Movist 1.1.3 from the App Store ($4.99). It DOES allow for
stepping FORWARD while displaying AVCHD files, but apparently not back. So far
in my testing it generally doesn't seem to play AVCHD files as smoothly as the
older Beta version -- lots of small bits of pixelated break up. Will have to
use it more to decide if still worthwhile.
