If you're new to Github and have never improved code or documentation here before, it can be a bit confusing. If this is you, you've come to the right place. Just leave a comment in here to ask any questions and tag @claytonprest, myself, or @johnrees . We can help you make an improvement to this documentation.

@claytonprest Hello I am a volunteer at FabLab in New Zealand (Masterton) and we are going to attempt to make a tiny house on the order of 3Mx3M and i am looking for files that might help to that end this site is quite exciting but also a bit confusing could you possibly point me in the right direction Thanks kindly Dennis Cheers

@Hydrom99 Hello! Thanks for getting in touch, it's always great to hear from people in NZ doing exciting things.

The best place to start is by downloading all the Microhouse design files from the repo here. This is a example design using the latest iteration of the Wikihouse Wren construction system, and a good template for creating your own custom design using Sketchup or other CAD software.

If you're looking to learn more there's plenty of documentation available here about how the Wren system works. If you're at all familiar with the Grasshopper parametric plugin for Rhino 3d you may find the Wren grasshopper file a useful tool for creating custom designs and exporting CNC cutting files.

As you're best in NZ if you can always try and get in touch with the team at Space Craft Systems who run the WikihouseNZ chapter. They're mostly based in Christchurch but have contacts in the Wellington area. http://spacecraft.co.nz/

Hope that helps you get started?

@claytonprest I am trying to custom design mini house and would like to play with WREN in grasshopper. So far I have downloaded Rhino 6 and listed plugins with no success. I am having issues with version mismatch. Is there a list available somewhere for all compatible versions? I am interested in using Parametric side of WREN. Thank you.

@claytonprest @HarryKnight @johnrees @pnprince Hello! I too am interested in getting the parametric side working on Rhino 6. The plugin leafcutter appears to be discontined, so I wonder how I should continue. Cheers

@claytonprest I am pursuing a PhD in the field of Digital Open Design Commons and i want to contribute at WREN known or other issues\limits as part of my research agenda. I have a working knowledge of Rhino, GH, RVB and RhinoPython. Please let me know the working version of GH plugins (Human is currently available only in Rhino 6 and leafcutter is discontiniued). Could you provide the gha files of the plugins in use?

kosmasg commented 4 years ago

@claytonprest @HarryKnight @johnrees Regarding my previous comment/request I have found the required plugin versions to run WREN grasshopper file in rhino 5 in secondary sources. I wonder whether the open issues mentioned at readme file (open issues/limits) are still open or the only currently open tasks are those mentioned under github issues section. Could you please clarify?

Furthermore, I can not recognize any input for door or window placement in GH inputs or pilot engine database. Am I missing something?

For other contributors it seems that these plugin versions work for Rhino 5: Human Leafcutter Cheers
