I am used to be able to clear searches via shortcuts. In the context of Zotero that clears the search often by itself (unfortunately actually) I did not feel the need for that... until I discovered Zutilo that makes it so convenient/efficient to work with Zotero that it would actually make sense to have this additional shortcut.
Work around: ctrl+f, esc
