Use case: Some basic settings may be applied to all newly imported photos (e.g. color profile, lens correction, auto tone). This is easiest done with a preset. And sometimes you want to reset one or more photos as there are just too many unnecessary edits. But, of course, you would not want to reset the import preset. So, the normal Reset function is not an option.
Idea:
CreateSoftReset: Function to apply a preset (configurable in options) and automatically create a Snapshot with a specific/fixed name (e.g. SoftReset). This function should not replace an already existing one (reason: to avoid issues when applying to multiple photos and some already have it; alternatively: replace if just one photo selected, if more do not replace)
SoftReset: Revert all selected photos to the SoftReset snapshot
CreateSoftSnapshot (optional): manually create this special snapshot for all selected photos (always replacing an existing one)
RemoveAllSnapshots (optional): a menu function (no need to have this on MIDI device) to remove the special snapshot from all selected photos
Note: This solution is not very elegant, as a Snapshot is merely a preset of the settings when created. Restoring just adds another history step and applies these settings. Would be much better to do this with the History function (#5 ).
