No audio is being picked up #1419

Describe the bug

EasyEffects does not pick up any audio output. The spectrum visualizer stays completely black, and changing the output device does not fix anything (both detected outputs behave the same).

Install pipewire-pulse too. The reason is that audio applications are still using Pulseaudio API.

PipeWire's compatibility layer for Pulseaudio applications conflicts with Pulseaudio. So Pulseaudio will have to be removed. That is normal.

I'm having the same problem today as well, for what it's worth - also on Gnome (just stock Fedora), and I have pipewire-pulseaudio installed. When EasyEffects isn't running.

This is happening both with the flatpak install or otherwise, and with all my outputs.

Stream/Output/Audio 106 ALSA plug-in [plexamp] with timestamp 1646442639174793446 was added

Even so the application does not appear in the Players tab? Do other players that do not rely on the ALSA plugin work?

It does appear in the players tab. It outputs audio if I add it to the blacklist or toggle it off (as far as I remember, I can verify if needed).

Even the default Gnome sound test does not output audio, which doesn't rely on that plugin as far as I know.

In that case you have a different problem. If the audio stream is in our Players tab but there is no audio either our pipeline was not properly put in the active estate or something is muted somewhere.

Install pipewire-pulse too. The reason is that audio applications are still using Pulseaudio API.

That was it, thanks! Might be a good idea to include pipewire-pulse in the AUR pkgbuild as a dependency? :)
