Favorites feed not recognized by iTunes #19

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install rsshandler using the instructions
2. Generate a feed for your favorites
3. Add feed URL to iTunes.

What is the expected output?
- iTunes should find videos and start downloading.

 What do you see instead?
- iTunes gives me a warning sign. When I click on it, I am told the URL is not
a valid podcast URL.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Last version of rsshandler. Mac OS X 10.5.(latest)

When I inspect the URL with CURL I can't see any obvious mistakes, but I don't
know RSS good
enough to tell what's wrong. Adding a normal user uploads URL works fine,
though.

Please provide any additional information below.

Just wanted to add that changing video format does not help.

Any news on this? This is actually all I ever used RSSHandler for. :( So I'm
missing it a lot!

It looks that I cannt reproduce this error with my user, can you please give me
your
youtube user name and/or feed configuration, so I would be able to reproduce it?
If you want to do it privately, it is possible via
http://www.rsshandler.com/contact

My username is fuzzy76no

I will do some more tests during the weekend and attach the resulting XML.

Yes, some more info would be great.
I was not able to reproduce error with this user name, I tested on Windows.
There is known problem that some characters in description cann't be recognized
by
iTunes, so there is option to remove description and/or title of feed items,
but with
your feed I was able to run it even with full title and description.
So, more input would be great.

Attached is the result of curl -i "http://minihtpc:8083/favorite?
id=fuzzy76no&format=18&host=minihtpc&port=8083" (which is the URL given to me
by RSSHandler).

iTunes claims it is not a valid Podcast URL.

This seemed to have fixed itself. Could it be a favorite with an illegal
character in its name, which was "pushed out" of the feed?
