Files lose executable mode after patching #387

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run the patch tool on an executable file like build/mac/strip_save_dsym
2. Notice that the executable file has lost executable permissions

Fix the patch tool to restore previously existing file mode after patching a 
file.
