Branching from 5f133defeca2d38dc038a7916b9493b69b442986: Attempting to Make region_hash a static member of region resulted in failure to link.

• make clean followed by make was OK.
• Stashing the changes, making 5f133de, re-applying the stash, and making again was also OK. :(
• Seems to be a result of the incremental changes made to the source files. Oh fun.
