hyphen character shown as letter a with circumflex? #36

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. run puttycyg with zsh -l as shell (although this happens w/ bash too)
2. man bash
3.

What is the expected result?  What happens instead?

The man page renderes "-" hyphen characters as the letter a with a
circumflex on top.

PutTTYcyg version:puttycyg-20091228
Cygwin version:CYGWIN_NT-5.2-WOW64 1.7.1(0.218/5/3) 2009-12-07 11:48
Windows version: winxp 64-bit

If you are experiencing performance issues, do you have a multi-core system
or multiple CPUs?

Please attach your PuTTY configuration.  Use this Windows command to create
putty.reg:
REG EXPORT HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SimonTatham\PuTTY putty.reg
