Mapping of MARC 524 field ("Cite as") #379

A small glitch in the mapping, which I notice belatedly:

The MARC 524 field is used, in records describing archives, to supply "Cite as" information, i.e. use this text when citing this object (or collection). For example, for this archive:

Constance Clement collection of Yale Center for British Art photographs and negatives. Yale Center for British Art, Institutional Archives.

Our xslt currently maps the 524 field to citation_ss and the bibliography tab, which isn't quite right.

I suggest that we omit the 524 field from the YCBA catalog altogether. It merely concatenates other data elements already found in the record.

@flapka Remove 524 for all marc based objects or IA only?

flapka commented 2 years ago

For all. While the 524 field is used most consistently with archives, it also appears in other MARC records (individual manuscripts, some non-book objects).

Fixed, should get picked up in next indexing: https://git.yale.edu/ermadmix/ycba_xslts/commit/02b781f31694d69e38267f627944d2c4a1e71822
