Scope

The yBudget team is transitioning into a larger structure composed of multiple teams, each having a representative. These teams collectively determine the outcomes of budget requests. To manage this transition, a dedicated role called a "cat herder" is necessary. This individual will oversee operational processes and ensure the team makes timely and informed decisions.

The cat herder serves as a process owner, acting impartially without voting rights. Their responsibilities include making corrections and clarifications, proposing consensus-driven solutions, and ensuring adherence to proper procedures. This role does not influence decision-making outcomes directly.

Ongoing Tasks

Manage the funding request repository on GitHub.
Oversee the handling of incoming requests from receipt to decision.
Administer the internal yBudget processes, including team coordination, voting procedures, status updates, timely communications, and team incentives.

Request Period Specific Tasks

[x] Refine the yBudget process as necessary.
[x] Investigate workflow automation options (e.g., Telegram bots) once a stable process is established.
[x] Lead the development of a veYFI rewards program for yTeams.
[ ] If time permits, improve the "blue dot" flow.

It may be good for the cat herder to own initial basic triage of budget requests. For example, ensuring that each incoming request fits the required template.

Initial triage could be a quick initial scan with a short SLO so budget requesters can make adjustments quickly and get to the broader review stage

Wouldn't this transition make the yBudget even LESS accountable for the terrible way the Yearn's budget was spent over the last 3 years?
