GitHub has added support for footnotes in Markdown [^changelog], but vmd does not render them.
Given the following
# Example of missing footnotes This should have a footnote [^note] at the bottom. [^note]: footnote should be here.
it is rendered as
[^changelog]: as seen here, or by the fact that this is one ;)
