AMS locks when inactive #32

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Connect AMS MIDI to MIDI keyboard in qjack
2. Connect AMS audio to Calf Plugin-[Rotary Speaker] in qjack
3. Start Playing (usually the Reed Organ vioce, slightly modified)- everything
    acts and sounds fine
4. If I minimize AMS and work on something else (PDFs, Score editors), AMS
starts eating CPU, usually locking my machine. My computer will go from
approx. 15% CPU usage to 100% in just a few seconds.

AMS doesn't lock every single time I follow the precedeing steps, there seems
to be no pattern as to when it decides to lock.

After AMS locks, I can usually unlock it by hitting a few keys on the MIDI
board. A noise surge will happen, CPU usage will drop, and then AMS will work
fine.

If I am careful to hit a few keys on my MIDI board every few seconds, AMS wont
lock.

I am using AMSynth 1.2.3 on Ubuntu Studio 11.04. My computer is a Lenovo/IBM
T43p Laptop(2Ghz.processor, 2GB RAM)

Thanks

The high CPU usage is caused by the reverb processing denormal numbers when the
input signal goes quiet. Issue has been fixed in version 1.3 of amsynth
