the preset 19 (glassic) emits an annoying click on key release #5

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. select the glassic preset (I use amsynth-1.3beta)
2. push a key
3. the release the key (the glassic sound is stopped "brutally" and emits some
kind of click

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

I use amsynth-1.3beta on mandriva-2010.1 32 bits + eeepc.
I use an Akay keyboard (lpk25).

try turning the amplifier release up just a tiny bit to get rid of the click.

I'm not convinced that this is a defect in the software (a hardware synth can
be made to click with a fast release).

Maybe this factory preset should be altered to remove the click?

Opinions welcome.

The click produced by using amSynth with short release times has always been a
big problem in my opinion and one which for me makes amSynth unusable. Which is
a shame, as otherwise it is a nice synth.

For the main topic, maybe trimming that sound a bit would be a good thing, but
personally I didn't found it that problematic.

Unwanted artifacts like this comes with the setting of the envelope and is all
pretty much normal behavior for just about any synth I've tried, and I've
worked my way through the register from analog modulars to digital plug-ins.

If you start with an 'init' sound it will often be a basic sine wave with
straight on/off action from the envelop. This is how I remember my DX7 worked
and it will go 'click' for sure.

Some synths won't allow you to maximize the settings and this is by design but
it will also prohibit you from producing clicks when that is what you need.

This shouldn't be labeled as a bug but as an enhancement... and I'd close it.
