[BUG]: Channel sorting no longer works #4070

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. Go to Settings->User Interface->Channel section sorting and select "Alphabetically"
  2. Go to Channels and notice that the channels aren't sorted alphabetically (it seems like it's in a random order)

Actual behavior

I tried all of the settings and nothing caused it to reset back to how it was before. I've also made sure to quit the app and restart it. The interesting thing is that when using sort by "New content", t used to bubble the new stuff to the top alphabetically, and then the rest of the channel list was in alphabetical order (which was very convenient for navigation). But now, the new content still bubbles up, but the whole list is not in alphabetical order.

Hopefully you can reproduce this because it can be tough to navigation a large list of channels to find a specific channel. Btw, I love this app, thank you for all that you do!

I'm experiencing the same issue, sorting channels by "New content" or "Alphabetically" is not working as expected. Also, in each channel, the videos are no longer displaying in the order of newest to oldest, as they did before. For example, in one of my channels, the first video listed is from four weeks ago, the second video is from twelve days ago, and a video posted today is number 23 in the list.

Edit: workaround is now broken too.

Can confirm this is broken in last 2 builds. This is specific to Alphabetical. Work around right now is to change your sorting to Alphabetical (fast previews) until this is fixed.

Settings > User Interface > Channels Section Sorting

The workaround to change sorting to Alphabetical (fast previews) is also broken. When I changed to this sorting option, I got the "no content" error message in Channels. When I changed back to sort by "New Content", the content reappeared.

I am facing the same issue on both stable and beta, I haven't updated my stable version in months because it just worked without issues, I was using the beta version today and noticed this issue, So I thought I would use the stable version with out the issue, Nope the issue is present in the stable version as well. Which makes me believe it's on YT's side or something they've changed.
