Long Term Future of CocoaSplit #57

I only recently learned of this project's existence, and noticed that it's been around for quite some time. I was wondering if you'd given any thoughts towards working on OBS instead, now that it the intention is for it to be cross-platform, and a Mac release has been available since around August, and updated a few times.

I love the flexibility of cross-platform software, but I also love the advantages and integration that native software provides. Having someone talented/capable to work on the core software, but with an OS X lean to make it feel more native seems like two huge wins in my book.

Not to mention that the two seem so similar, that I feel that a combined effort would result in better software for everyone.

Zakk can correct me if I'm wrong but he probably started this project because he enjoys it. He's put a lot of work into it and if you check the commits he's fairly active with development. I don't think it's fair to ask him to drop it and work on OBS simply because it's more known or cross-platform. It's not conducive to progress to have only one actively developed option, either. If that was the case there would be no OS X or Linux.

I didn't ask him to drop it, I merely asked if he's already given any thought to it and simply chimed in with my feelings.

This is not extinct at all. He just moved it to his website. Go under download then CocoaSplit-1.9 and get the latest download. http://www.cocoasplit.com/

I didn't infer anything about the status of this project, I saw before opening this issue that there had been commits this month. I was shocked that I hadn't heard of it sooner considering how long I've been annoyed with the only other free option I knew of (Adobe's FMLE).

I was only looking to see if @zakk4223 had OBS' cross-platform support on his radar. OBS has been wonderful to use on my non-Mac machine, but it's still incredibly rough on OS X. In my eyes, with something as complicated as streaming really is, what it really takes to make something feel native/natural, combined effort is better than solo efforts.
