Oh, and a bunch of the pages have warnings that could use updating from alpha to beta, if you wanted to also do that in this PR.

Maybe add a note on serial port permissions for Linux? The error on first access is descriptive enough, but a dedicated warning couldn't hurt.

I think this is worth putting somewhere, I will do that as a follow up PR though.
