Not Able to use "stats malloc" and "stats maps" commands in 1.4.5 #400

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.I am not able to use "stats malloc" and "stats maps" on 1.4.5 version to 
collect total fress data. Please provide suggest alternative comamnds for 
version 1.4.5
2. I am getting below error

MEMCACHE CRITICAL: total_free data is missing - memcached 1.4.5 on
