P.S My game is not in the same directory as my boot drive
Huh... I thought I fixed this already, oh well. Can you try navigating to your game path, making the R2Northstar
folder and inside it make the mods
folder.
That should fix it temporarily, however I'll try and issue an update in 15 minutes or so to fix this...
Didn't notice your reply before...

This shouldn't make any difference, although if possible, could you share the contents of %APPDATA%\viper.json
simply run that in the run menu (Win+R) and it should open the file in a text editor or notepad.
That's only to make sure it is really setting the game path to a different drive, but again, I don't see it making any difference as it should save that.
Personally I can't reproduce this issue? Even after removing every Northstar related file and folder I don't get an error upon install...
EDIT: I found a way to reproduce, when Northstar is installed deleting the folder afterwards causes this error, aka, Northstar has to be installed, and a rare circumstance has to cause the mods
folder to not exist.
I've fixed the bug, and it'll release in a bit...
This should be fixed in the v1.0.2 release, either update it manually or let Viper auto update when you launch it, however since this issue quite possibly happens on startup, the auto update process may never be started. Thereby requiring a manual update, i.e downloading the installer and running it.
