bruhhhh!
the ULTIMATE GUIDE on how to setup my tv, for good.
if you think you need a firewall for your tv , you are an idiot. if you think you need your tv to have best performance ( by disabling bloat ) , you are an idiot
from a seasoned android tv user. ( i dont even remember last time i used my tv for anything. its a sony 4k bravia tv , with tons of features and stuff. but it cant beat my laptop. lmao. )
@fcjtd
enable all features that improve sound and picture
Please do your research before saying things like this. https://www.youtube.com/@hdtvtest (his most viewed videos, this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiL6ZJXta4U and this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGFt746TJu0 just as an example) Only feature worth using on TVs is Filmmaker mode, that's it, everything else should be disabled.
but it cant beat my laptop
I have 4 smart TVs in my home, one of them is mine and guess what? I'm not even connected to the internet on that one, I use it as a monitor since it's connected to my PC, every TV sucks, the performance is bad and the "smart features" are bloat with tracking elements. I do advice you to search about "Why smart TVs sucks" on Google or YouTube.
if you think you need your tv to have best performance ( by disabling bloat ) , you are an idiot
it's not about performance to be honest.
firewall for your tv
I guess you have no idea what you TV is doing (from the network side of things), I get that impression from you, I'll tel you what, I have Pi-Hole, which is a DNS Server that blocks ads, telemetry and analytics URLs (and more), so I have a rough idea of what requests are being done from the TV, and if I suggested or asked about debloater for TV then there's probably a reason why, so there's no need to be aggressive and call other people names, that's rude and disrespectful.
Have you seen the system apps? "Analytics" it's literately a system app, yes, that's the name of the app, I'm not joking. Also "Bug reporter" or something like that is a system app.
I agree with you that some apps are not safe to disable, after all they are called "system apps" for a reason, but there are some that you can disable safely, the same way on your phone, you don't need ALL the bloat, it's ok to remove 1 or 2 where you can just to make sure the telemetry and analytics are disabled, that's it, no need to risk anything.
@Obegg
sorry, shouldnt have called you stupid
have good day sir.
maybe i was thinking more on the "how it should be"
That's the good idea instead of degoogling your phone, that's better to degoogle android TV - but as goodle applications are well organized on operating on TV. But for removing the bloatwares that's a best choice and i hope so we need to update the packages available cause there will be different package names for TV applications i think so
While this is "universal android debloater" it's mainly for Android Phones, hypothetically it should not be too complicated for it to be for Android TVs too, right?
