Hi..

I am far from having your expertise, so I don't want to be presumptive. However, I recognize LDS-006 output data very similar to that of a different LIDAR device typically used on vacuum cleaners. I purchased a YDLIDAR X2 unit, which has a complete set of documentation including this: "YDLIDAR X2 development manual V1.1.pdf". The output code is explained in its' entirety. Using a Terminal emulator, I collected large samples at 115200 bds. It was quite easy to program an Arduino DUE to read and display the processed data. Thanks Gilles Violette

oh nice, do you have a link to the pdf? I've found some online but they seem to have different values than what I have found. would make my life a lot easier though if they shared the structure of data edit: I think I found the above document but it seems like the data is different to what I am getting from the LDS-006. I will investigate more this evening
