Android SDK Installer fails on Eclipse 3.7.2 on Ubuntu 12.04 #23

What steps will reproduce the problem?
* Follow the instructions here: http://code.google.com/p/adt-addons/

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
* I expect to see the licence agreement.
* Instead I see these error message:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be 
found.
  Software being installed: Android SDK Installer 0.9.5.201012121703 (com.android.ide.eclipse.installer.feature.feature.group 0.9.5.201012121703)
  Missing requirement: Android SDK Installer 0.9.5.201012121703 (com.android.ide.eclipse.installer.feature.feature.group 0.9.5.201012121703) requires 'org.eclipse.gef.all.feature.group 0.0.0' but it could not be found

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
* Eclipse 3.7.2 (not installed as root, but symlinked to /usr/local/bin/eclipse)
* Ubuntu 12.04.

Please provide any additional information below.
* I found the closed issue that recommends to start Eclipse as root. I tried 
that to with the same result.
