[Feature request] Extend Session mode to work as a note taking app #688

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. a user might need a way to take notes in a fast & Lightweight app

Describe the solution you'd like Extend Session mode to have a slightly different UI (See the Screenshot below). So for example tabs could be represented as a list on the left of the screen, etc...

So implementing vertical tabs should be enough??

Hi @soumyamahunt, Thanks for the follow up. Yes as you can see from the screenshot. I Think it just needs : 1) Vertical Tabs. 2) File (Note) is auto saved & The File name should be the First couple of words in the note. 3) Search all notes contents.

@yehia2amer, try Simplenote, it ticks all of my boxes. It cannot save files locally and the font is variable width, though, if these are requirements for you...

Hi @valhristov , Thanks for that suggestion. Actually my problem with all those opensource note taking apps is that almost all of them are based on electron. which makes them much slower & memory Hogs. For example when I open Notepads on my machine it opens almost instantly (less than a sec) and it takes about 35MB of RAM. to compare that with SimpleNote which takes sometime to open and about 230MB of RAM.

The Strange part is that SimpleNote do have native apps for every platform except windows !

That's why I would love Notepads to be my Notes App it is fast, no electron crap so it is memory efficient, it do have tons of features out of the box.
