When I run with root privileges my system goes to a black screen and nothing
else follows. Crash maybe. Never seen this happen before.

I have Intel i5 with 8 gigs ram and 500 gig SS hybrid
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 11.04
Release: 11.04
Codename: natty
Kernel: Linux 2.6.38-15-generic x86_64
WLAN: Broadcom BCM4727 802.11 Hybrid Wireless Controller 5.100.82.38

Any suggestions please... Thank you...

Im dont know works causing the problem you encounter, but you can try this:

Try this go to /usr/local/bin

Then delete the Fern-Wifi-Cracker directory

Then cd on terminal to:

cd /usr/local/bin

then

svn checkout http://fern-wifi-cracker.googlecode.com/svn/Fern-Wifi-Cracker/

when finished run the program again
