Double-clicking a file invokes the application that is associated with that
format.
For EPUB books, Sigil will not associate itself with that format because the
user
usually wants Adobe Digital Editions to start up, not Sigil.
For SGF, format association is planned. This is tracked under issue #10.
Right-clicking a file and using "Open With" has been supported since 0.1.2. I
haven't
tested it on Mac yet, but it should work there too.
File drag-and-drop on the binary should also work, and does on Windows. Are you
sure
you are using the latest version? If you are, and it doesn't work on Mac, then
that's
a bug.

It hadn't, at least not under version 1.2... Busy downloading 1.3 to check.
What WOULD happen, however, was that Sigil would open as expected, but would
not load the file as expected
when you used the "Open With" option.
Sigil would not accept any dropped files either...
I'll have a look whether that had changed with the new version.

Just had a look... Still not.
Sigil still ignores dropped files on my system, as well as any open with files.
The Application itself opens, it just
won't load the file you asked it to open with.

I am indeed on a Mac, yes.
I've seen it on both 10.5 and after upgrading also on 10.6.
