Please describe in as much detail as possible the feature you are
requesting. How would the user use it? Why should it be added?

Automatically convert html to xhtml on import and change file extension to 
.xhtml.
How would the user use it? When adding existing html files.
Why should it be added? Saves me having to rename the file with an xhtml file 
extension.

This is already done. It's just that the extension is left as "html". The file 
is still XHTML. The extension doesn't matter. It's perfectly normal to have 
XHTML code in a file with an "html" or "htm" extension.
