when calling meta editor sigil hangs #821

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. open epub file (tried with two different epubs
2. start meta Editor (f8)
3. sigil doesnt respond anymore, only task manager allows to kill it
...

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

I am having the same issue. I am running windows 7 pro. When I click to open up 
the meta editor, Sigil stops responding. I cannot click on anything, nothing 
pops up and to close Sigil I have to launch the task manager to shut down the 
program. I tried with several different epub files but all with the same 
results. I have version 4.2 of Sigil. It was running fine a few weeks 
ago...don't know what could have happened to make it stop responding...hope I 
can get someone to reply with a fix for this.
