Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
Load attached ePub to Sigil 4.0.

What is the expected output?

Sections listed in the Book Browser should be in the same sequence as headers
in the html file or as listed in the Table_of_Contents.xhtml.

What do you see instead?
Files are out of proper sequence.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Sigil 4.0 beta 3 32 bit and win 7.0

Please provide any additional information below. If your source file
(SGF/EPUB/HTML/etc) is required to fully understand the problem, please
attach it to this issue. Read the ReportingIssues wiki page before

Am I missing something? When I open you epub in Sigil 0.4.0beta3, sections in
the Book Browser are listed in the exact same sequence as the one in
Table_of_Contents.xhtml.

Again, I don't understand where the problem is. When I open your epub file, the
files are listed in the Book Browser in the same sequence as they are listed in
the <spine> section of your OPF file.

The <spine> order specifies the actual order of HTML files presented to the
reader of the book. The order in the Book Browser merely reflects the <spine>
order; reordering the files in the BB, reorders the <spine> order.

Again, the files are listed in the BB in the same order that they are listed in
the spine (3,2,4,5). Unzipping the epub you can see that this is the order in
the original OPF file, meaning that Sigil didn't reorder anything.

If you're trying to say "the 3, 2, 4, 5 order is incorrect, it should go 2, 3,
4, 5", well, the "wrong" order is the one in the epub you posted.

Ok, saw it. This is issue 828, but I've just reproduced it. It's hard to repro
this, it doesn't happen always.

Thank you. I was beginning to think I was going nuts. It not only will happen
at the beginning of the book, but also on down and appears allmost random and
can cause chapters to be displayed out of sequence.

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
It *is* random. I've only seen it once. Can't really reliably reproduce it, but
I have seen it.

Fixing this will be tough.

I see it every day as I format PG books. Is there any way I can help? Would it
help if I sent every html file where it occurs? That way you can get more
reproductions.

If you can make a reproducible test sequence, that would be great. The problem
is that I can get it to reliably repeat. I need one file and a procedure with
which I can get it to happen *repeatedly*.
