"merge with previous" disappears sometimes #840

If the text filename contains a dot, the context menu entry "merge with 
previous" disappears.

e.g.

Twain, M. - Huckleberry Finn chap01.html

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Looks like the extension is not properly recognized when the filename contains 
additional dots.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

sigin 040 beta 3

win xp 32bit sp3

No, sorry. I see the merge action even for files with another dot in them.

Do note that there is no merge action for the first HTML file in the Text 
folder; there is no "previous" file to merge with.
