Add more debug-level logging during startup.

Changes:

Log both to console and a log file (so we get logging during startup on Windows)
Add some log messages while starting up MO as a daemon and before starting web server.

@bjori @ajdavis , anything else you'd like to see here?

Oh good! I've been working along a similar track, but this is fine. I'd merge it.
