Featured image not distributed/pushed after update #1134

Describe the bug

Hey,

after the update, it seems the featured image is not distributed anymore. Instead, the image used in content is used as featured image. The original featured image is also not in the media library of the second site.

Example: post created at: https://venedig-magazin.com/2023/09/07/eintritt-nach-venedig-ab-fruehjahr-2024-geplant/

and pushed to: https://triest-magazin.com/eintritt-nach-venedig-ab-fruehjahr-2024-geplant/

Could you please have a look at this issue?

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create post with featured image
  2. Distribute post to another site
  3. Check if the featured image appears

@peterwilsoncc as you try and replicate this to see how we can resolve, you might consider #310 and whether the two are related and could be resolved together in a 2.0.1 release perhaps?

Unfortunately I've not had any success reproducing the issue in which the inline image is set as the featured image. I've tried a variety of configurations and methods of sharing the data without success.

Are you seeing this bug on other Distributed content?

This was the only post since the distributor update, i will check as soon as there is a new one.

What i can tell is, that this post was distributed to more sites with the same issue:

Maybe other plugins affect the distribution, i don't know the WP Actions/Hooks system that well.

Moving this to the 2.1.0 milestone as we've not yet been able to replicate the issue

I'm facing similar issue with distributor 2.0.1. Seems to be picking the newest image from distributed page. But interestingly only on live not on stage. I'll try to debug it and let know more if I find out more. EDIT: Ok seems to fix the issue I just had to run Upgrade network after plugin update. Before it was just using last image from library and duplicate it.
