No connection found #421

I'm attempting to establish a connection between two sites. Have application passwords installed in the remote site as well as pretty permalinks enabled. Still getting No connection found. Any suggestions? Thanks, Christopher

@chrismacor I assume that you're setup across different WordPress instances given your reference to Application Passwords. If you're setup within a single WordPress Multisite, then you do not need Application Passwords and Distributor should work as installed and activated at the network level. As for the various WordPress instances setup, you'll need Application Passwords and External Connections setup on each instance (instructions here). Please let me know further details on your setup if this information does not help, thanks!

Thanks so much for your reply. The part I was missing was including the /wp-json in the url. I'm good for now Jeffrey, Christopher

Hi Jeffrey, I was suggesting the Distributor plugin to a site we'd like to remote with and they had this reply. We think this is an interesting idea on its face. However, our tech advisor has reservations about using a plugin that doesn't appear in the WordPress repository. He has had some bad experiences. I'm curious why distributor is not in the Repository. Is there any chance you'll be appearing in the Word Press repository soon? Thanks for your help, Christopher

@chrismacor we don't have plans to submit Distributor to the WordPress.org repository, no. Our approach with Distributor is that it's freely available, that we provide free registration keys via DistributorPlugin.com in exchange for the opportunity to gather feedback on issues and ideas our consumers have with Distributor, and that we utilize the registration info to communicate with consumers on major updates and beta testing opportunities. Our team follows 10up's Engineering Best Practices to ensure the code within Distributor is held to a high level of quality as well.
