Feature Request to manually set the balancing daily interval from 4 to 1 day or start it manually #19

Especially in winter you want to let every bit of sun flow into the battery. But if the CVL is too low, the charging current will also go down quickly and much of the energy cannot be used. Therefore it would be great if you could switch to "Balancing Mode" manually and/or set the daily interval when "Balancing Mode" is activated. It would be ideal if this were possible in the SmartBMS Manager menu of the VenusOS Remote Console and in the 123\SmartBMS App. Of course, it would be best if the setting could be made directly in the dashboard of the VRM online portal, or using the VRM REST API.

Hi Michael, Thanks for the feedback. In a coming update, the "balance needed" will be changed to 1 day. Note that there already is a "unbalance detected" algorithm which activates "balance needed" when there is voltage unbalance between cells (about 40mV).

I suspect that this doesn't solve my problem: Currently the day starts in the absorption phase with a CVL of 53.76V. As a result, when this voltage is reached, the current decreases steadily. This usually occurs for me at around 70% SOC. As a result, I give away a lot of electricity that I could have charged. I think if it switched to bulk phase at sunrise and the CVL was at 54.24V I could get 100% SOC before sunset on many days as cloud cover breakup could be better exploited on less sunny days.

Here is an example of a cloudy day on which 100% SOC was not reached until sunset, although there were still 5 kilowatt hours of additional PV energy available during the day: image

Hi Michael,

Have you set the Vbalance to 3.5V? In that case and with the latest coming software, the CVL will be set to about 3.53V x 16 cells, every day again.

Hi,

now, I set the V balance to 3,5V.

Thanks! It works now.
