Unable to start red Tomcat in Bodo #47

Open 132nd-Astero opened 2 months ago

Issue: Both ground air source and ground power are needed for Tomcat cold start, but currently the red Tomcats could only get the ground air source in Bodo.

Date: 09/15/2024

Update 09/17: Sorry, I was wrong. We could get the ground power, but not the ground air source.

What do the red Tomcat need to work? Right now it has the same as the other red AC at Bodø (that works atleast for the F-16): A red FARP (invisible) A Scout HMMWV A refuelr M978 HEMMTT A truck M939 Heavy

So what is needed to give the ground power?

Lefty found the cause, which is contested airfield.

As long as blue units are in the majority, red units can't use their services. We get electric power from the farp but air would come from only the field. Tried to start up the red kitty on the server at OMAM (atrm) but also failed. Might be a recent issue, but also found that FARP ground AIR supply is on wishlist for ages on dcs forums.

Lefty's test and investigation shows, that probably no supply vehicle could be placed additionally as red to solve this problem. @132ndNeck So based on the discussion between Lefty and Shadow, their conclusion is:

The other red F-14 on separate airfields could surely be cold start, when they are added later.

Would everyone accept hot start RED Tomcats in Bodo as a temporary solution to the problem? I'd make it happen in conjunction with the radios and DLWPs.

132nd-Entropy commented 1 week ago

sure, lets do that

132nd-Entropy commented 1 week ago

Im re-opening that, as the red tomcats have not been implemented yet ?

132nd-Astero commented 1 week ago

Thanks! Previously I thought they have been already implemented.
