Emoji font for print standards #126

This emoji font is great, but doesn't meet some technical requirements for print. For print, OpenType SVG fonts are not yet supported by print PDF standards, so this font can't be embedded in a PDF intended for print. It's also RGB based, and it would be wonderful if there were grayscale and/or CMYK options. The workaround for this now is to convert the characters to outline or use vector art and color correct/export to PDF, however, that creates problems for ebook accessibility in a print first workflow. Live characters would have built in definitions, but converted to outline means that alt text has to be added (which is a tedious project).

Are there any plans to add support for print? I know this is a big ask, but any plans to create the following?

TrueType, or OpenType Truetype font type (not OpenType SVG) that can be embedded in PDFs Grayscale and CMYK versions

Sorry, I have no plans to add anything specific for print use. I may someday publish it in another format, but don't hold your breath 😄
