Panorama mode should be metadata-driven rather than downloaded
image-driven; that is, you should be able to see all locations/time
intervals, even before any images are downloaded. This is a cornerstone
issue relating to the future direction of the project.

This change will require issue 1, dynamic generation of images, as a 
consequence.
