Using Google's Map API with versions 0.10.x #72

Hi Jakob,

I was wondering if it's still possible to use the moveVis package with Google Maps APIs. My colleague was using the older version of moveVis with google maps and has a key registered with them currently. They seem to have more descriptive maps for the part of the world I'm looking at from what I can tell after exploring OSM and mapbox.

Thanks for making all of this and for your help!

Alex

Hi Alex,

unfortunately, this is currently not possible but I consider including the Google Maps API again in one of the next updates similar to the mapbox API.

Best, Jakob

Hi @16EAGLE, I got same question by a marine biologist (@PieterjanVerhelst). It would be nice to add bathymetry maps, indeed. Google Earth could be a more general solutions. Specific bathymetry charts could also git the scope. So, I am interested to get some updates about this issue. Thanks again for developing and maintaining this package.
