Why: As an 18F product designer who is interested in becoming a mentor for students exploring civic tech careers, especially in product design, I would like to learn more about becoming a mentor. For mentors, connect with 1-2 students throughout the summer for no more than a total of 5-10 hours of their time. No location requirements for mentors.

Context: CIFs come from a diverse set of backgrounds, figuring out the job hunt, applying to grad school, knowing if (and when) they should specialize in a field, and learning how to cut through red tape.

How:

When: There is a formal call for mentors by May 25th, which might be too late at this point, but for the future, we can explore how we can formalize this process a bit more in 18F Product Design. And prepare ahead for it.

Potential issue(s): Additional loads for product design team that is already strapped

Per chat today, wanted to document that we discussed how a CIF designer could help provide support for 18F/TTS internal initiatives, like the 18F or TTS websites.
