A1 had planned to release a payroll app but it is has not been released and is not currently under active development. 1Hive had planned to use and it would be great to make that happen sooner rather than later.
We could potentially use Sablier for payroll via the Agent app, but this would be relatively limited from a permissions perspective. A native Aragon payroll application would enable organizations to create recurring incentive structures that minimize voting.
Additionally, we can improve and simplify the app by allowing only a single payment token (eliminating the need for oracles and price feeds) but also make it more powerful by allowing organizations to allow contributors a choice deferred compensation by choosing to mint organization tokens (eg which could represent "grunt fund slices" or project equity) based on a multiplier relative to a base payment token eg (dai or usdc).
Users would be able to make their compensation choice at their discretion
The multiplier between the base currency and deferred compensation could be fixed or dynamic and determined relative to the balance of the base currency in the vault. (when funds are low the multiple offered to defer payment is higher)
Adding or modifying someones compensation level would require permission. The organization can impose a process requiring users to have a contractor agreement to be eligible.
When a user withdraws funds an invoice should be generated. Since the invoice is deterministic based on blockchain data we can generate this on demand for users.
The payroll app, and particularly the grunt fund mechanism, maps well to 1Hive's incubator model, as each project may have have its own long term upside (eg through app mining or other related business models). The deferred compensation model serves to better align incentives because project contributors are able to both share the risks associated with project initiatives as well as reap the long term rewards.
