Firefox’s Telemetry API enables add-ons to collect anonymous information from the user base. Generalized statistics are displayed publicly. The instructions for adding a telemetry probe look pretty simple.
AVIM is very good about keeping users’ input private, so any use of telemetry would have to be very limited. The only statistics I’d be interested in collecting would be:
How many people have AVIM enabled but in Off mode?
Which input method is the most/least popular? (I’m guessing Telex is the most, VIQR* the least.)
Do users prefer traditional or reformed tone mark placement?
