Production deployment challenge

State

The project is really only able to run locally or in a basic heroku dyno. This heorku deployment is just the local folder uploaded.

Problem

Moving towards deployment and produciotn we need to have a few things that are currently not present:

• Sperate the database from the viewer so that the database can be updated seperately. THis will likely mean I have to put the lancedb on the cloud.
• Ability to easily update the data store behind the app
  • Recieve new PDFs and process them
  • Update the vector store

Solution

This space is going to reuqire some thought and experimenting

The work that is being done relevant to this is:

• Move billing over so that it is directly too TAIC rather than through me
• THe above could be solved by getting the cloud managed directly by TAIC contact for their AZURE instance.

SInce time has passed this has been thought more about and could be sumarised better These are the things that need to be done:

• Host webapp on azure web app service (curently not a requirement for beta version)
• Host vector database on azure blob storage (#193)
• Host sql user database on azue sql database (#205)

The viewer app has been moved over to azure and is deployed correctly with login protection.

The last step will be to make the engine automatically run #231
