Viewer search box does not expand as your search query gets very large

Problem

The search box does not expand as the query get larger and larger.

Ideas and suggestions

There aught to be some small css change to the input box to allow it expand as needed. Ideally I would like to even have multi line so you can have somne quite indepth questions.
