6 months ago You can press the delete key on the keyboard when the item is selected. Copy and paste also works :)
It would be nice to make it more explicit.

It doesn't seem that there's a way to delete a signature element if it's placed in error. I know that I can drag the item off the margin of the document, but is there another proper method to delete an element that I've placed?
